Courtney Morgan
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Counselor. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University Southeast, where I received an Outstanding Student award for my academic and professional performance. I have clinical experience in schools, residential care facilities, and community-based mental health, all of which have formed my trauma-informed lens of the world.
I empower individuals to embody their authentic selves and overcome difficulties by challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, deconstructing negative internal narratives, building upon strengths, implementing new skills, and promoting positive self-talk.
I work very well with teenagers struggling to manage their moods, children attempting to regulate big emotions, families seeking support or insight to overcome challenges, and individuals looking to gain an understanding of self to make positive changes. As a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, I find joy in helping parents learn new parenting tools to add to their parent toolkit. I utilize a developmentally appropriate, creative approach when working with children by engaging in expressive and play driven interventions to explore unwanted behaviors or emotions and instill autonomy.
I also serve as the Group Program Coordinator for Creative Family Counseling, coordinating and overseeing therapy groups for clients at the practice.
Given a safe, supportive place to process experiences and deconstruct thoughts, individuals will feel confident making positive decisions and healthy changes. I hold the space for them to do so by providing a nurturing environment, asking insightful questions, and offering warm reminders of worth.
