Hannah Barrineau, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky as well as Indiana, and have spent the last five and half years working as a therapist at a community mental health agency. Most recently, I specialized in working with teenagers in a high school setting. I am well-versed with young adults and teens, and am passionate about providing a safe space where clients can fully be themselves. I enjoy helping my clients identify and use strengths that they already possess in order to become the best versions of themselves.
Some of my favorite therapy experiences have been helping clients and their parents understand one another and utilize tools they have not yet tried in order to improve things at home, and helping clients work on their own boundaries and self-worth.
Providing trauma informed care is extremely important to me as a therapist, and I have a great deal of experience working with LGBTQ+ teenagers. I enjoy working with those struggling with anxiety and depression, and aim to help provide supportive coping skills and tools to make everyday a little less challenging. I believe that most of us have things that we struggle with, and having someone by your side to talk about it and help walk you through it is immeasurably helpful.
I grew up in North Carolina and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Religious Studies from UNC Asheville. I completed my Master’s in Social Work at Western Carolina University, and have lived in Kentucky since 2014.
