I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Kentucky. I am both fascinated and humbled by the opportunity to share in the unique life journey of each client with which I work. My approach to therapy is informed by my training as an LMFT – I treat clients’ problems within the context of their relationships and generational patterns. This systemic approach to counseling is especially helpful in understanding the dynamics between partners and family members who are struggling to get along, and it is what sets the training of a Marriage and Family Therapist apart from other counseling professions. By understanding the interactional “process” of a problem between clients, we are then able to discover healthier ways of interacting, which brings about the positive change for which clients are seeking when they come to therapy.
Clients who work with me may include partners considering divorce, marriage, or remarriage, those seeking couples counseling for the challenges of a blended family, as well as individuals managing grief and loss, life transitions, low self-esteem, or children in foster and/or adoptive arrangements.
I am especially passionate about working with individual adults and couples. Through therapy, clients develop an understanding of their pasts and how it impacts their present-day interactions. Clients also find healthy ways to connect with loved ones and express emotions in healthier ways.
My goal is to assist clients in achieving balance and positive change in their lives through an approach that helps to create personal safety and empowerment.
I help to guide individuals, partners, and families in a collaborative effort to develop healthy coping skills, improved communication, and an enhanced self-concept to address many of life’s challenging issues. Sometimes we just need a road map to help navigate adversity and bring about positive change. Let’s figure out what your roadmap includes. I’m grateful to be a part of this journey.
