Trauma Informed-Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TI-EAP)
For clients who have access to their own horse, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Leslie Cashion offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Leslie, who is trained in Natural Lifemanship Level 1 utilizes principles from her training programs to help clients make progress toward established goals between themselves and their equine.
Using Natural Lifemanship principles to guide her work, Leslie will partner with you and your equine at your barn or facility to deepen connection, heal trauma, and facilitate understanding across species. Research and experience prove that connection in relationship with animals can be a healing, valuable experience for all involved.
Natural Lifemanship is a model based in consent, connection, and compassion. Using this model, Leslie can focus on your connections, relationship, emotional regulation, and communication in collaboration with you and your equine. Our work is trauma informed for both equine and human, utilizing Leslie’s therapist training and over 25 years professional equine experience as a coach, trainer, instructor, and manager. In our work, the equine is a partner, never a metaphor or tool.
