Individual Therapy
Your goals for therapy will be established at the first meeting with your therapist at Creative Family Counseling, and every session after that will be tailored to meet that goal as soon as possible. At Creative Family Counseling, we value your time, energy and motivations for feeling better, and it is our aim to help facilitate that change with an efficient use of our time together.
Our therapists are trained in and utilize various treatment approaches, which are goal-oriented, solution-focused, integrative and collaborative. We implement many evidence-based practices into our work with clients, such as Systems Theory, Brief Solutions Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and use of Mindfulness techniques to just name a few.
Some common issues which encourage clients to seek help at Creative Family Counseling are issues such as difficulty communicating effectively, issues with procrastination and difficulty completing tasks, depression, grief, explosive anger, anxiety, panic attacks, interpersonal issues, self-injurious behaviors, suicide attempts, low self-esteem, and symptoms related to history of abuse, trauma, neglect or abandonment.
We feel very strongly at Creative Family Counseling that our therapists are not the experts on your life. You are. We feel honored to be a part of your journey of uncovering your personal strengths, experiencing healing, and finding creative solutions to your problems.
Albert Einstein was quoted, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” Therapy can help you keep moving forward, even when you feel you’ve lost your balance. Your therapist can discover with you how to regain balance in your life.
