Courtney Lauver, LCSW

I empathize with parents who are seeking answers for their children.

Everyone deserves a peaceful and connected home.

I enjoy working with children ages 3 and up, adolescents, young adults, and families. My approach is trauma-informed and family-focused. I believe family support is essential in a child’s journey to heal and help equip parents with Positive Discipline tools as a Certified Parent Educator.

I enjoy helping my clients share their feelings in the way that feels most comfortable to them, through expressive techniques, play techniques, or traditional talk therapy. I am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Sand Tray Therapy. As an AutPlay Certified Clinician, I have gained expertise in working with challenges associated with neurodiversity. I am always seeking more education to expand my skills to best serve my clients. My hope is to provide a safe and welcoming space for you to learn, grow and heal.

I enjoy working with children and families to:
  • improve children’s behaviors,
  • improve communication and bonding,
  • learn skills to reduce anxiety or depression symptoms, and
  • process traumatic events.

I have worked well with the following communities:

  • families to prevent removal or to reunite after foster care,
  • grandparents raising grandchildren,
  • adolescents and adults with substance use,
  • survivors of human trafficking,
  • survivors of childhood trauma, and
  • immigrant and refugee families.

I was born and raised in Arizona, but gained clinical skills from working with various populations in Louisiana, New Jersey, and Kentucky. I have worked with families of many cultural backgrounds and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
