Jennifer Hartman, LPCA

Everyone deserves a safe space to find healing and connection.

With my training in evidence-based counseling, my empathetic and patient approach and within the safety of the therapy room, we can collaboratively work toward your goals for healing and healthy connection.

I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate and Lindsey Wilson College graduate. I work under the clinical supervision of Kathryn Fitzgerald Cowart, LPCC-S.  My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and collaborative. I value your unique strengths and strive to create a safe environment for you to pursue your therapeutic goals.

I work at the Lyndon Campus with children 2+, teens, parents, and adults and provide the following services:

In my role as Practice Manager at Creative Family Counseling, I am honored to support our team through various administrative tasks at both the Lyndon and Prospect locations to help keep our services running smoothly.

As a Certified AutPlay Therapist, I am neurodiversity affirming and enjoy using evidence-based play and expressive activities with children and adolescents. I am passionate about deepening the connection between parents and children through the use of Positive Discipline Parenting. I also have a deep passion for helping new parents prepare for and adjust to parenthood. I am certified to help clients overcome Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders through Postpartum Support International.

I believe in empowering individuals through the integration of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness for teens and adults. When working with couples, I utilize Emotionally-Focused Therapy to build a healthy, secure attachment within the relationship. I completed the “Created for Connection” Externship-Certification for EFT in 2022.

Raised in England, I graduated from the University of Manchester before moving to South Korea. I have enjoyed the privilege of working with refugees, multicultural families, families with high mobility lifestyles, non-profits, and faith-based organizations. After relocating to Louisville, I gained clinical experience in schools and community-based mental health settings working with a range of diagnoses including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma-related disorders.

It is my hope that you will feel safe, supported, and heard in therapy. It is an honor to join you in your journey towards hope and healing.
