Mary Clay Edinger
I am a student intern at Creative Family Counseling and am currently working on a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. I am supervised by Amy Travis as well as the leadership team at Creative Family Counseling. I hold a BA in English from Davidson College and a Masters in English from Middlebury College.
Before starting the path towards becoming a therapist, I taught 8th grade English for eleven years and coached middle and high schoolers in field hockey and lacrosse. My favorite thing about teaching and coaching was working with students and their families to help students grow into themselves, solve problems, and communicate their needs. After having children of my own, this passion intensified and helped me realize that I wanted this work to be my whole job, not just part of my teaching day. I hope to work with young people and their families in this capacity for many years to come.
I believe that the bravest thing you can do is to ask for help when you need it. I am humbled by your bravery and look forward to showing up for you, holding space for you, and working with you and your family towards your goals.
